App Evaluation 1

My goal for today in app making was to establish an idea and create a template and general look. I am creating an app that lists 12 of the top albums in hip hop and r&b. From those albums it shows the most popular song and which one is my personal favorite.

The Blackphone

Should we be concerned about our privacy?

In today's day and age, a person's privacy is not that hard to breach. The amount of technology there is to crack someone's every move and their entire lifestyle is unbelievable. Someone who is knowledgeable could easily access someone's information, even by having a standard running computer. The trouble as well, is not just the technology, but people in general's willingness to put their private information online. I think that we should be concerned with our privacy, but to be honest I do not think that privacy is a real concept, because it does not really exist anymore.
What is a Blackphone?

The Blackphone is a smartphone that has been encrypted so it becomes untraceable if wanted. It is customized and is very difficult for unwanted visitors to infiltrate the phone to take information. Has multiple privacy features that help with emails, calls, text messages and even other applications such as social media and games. It keeps your private information private.

Would you get one?

I do not think I would want or find the need for a Blackphone. I barley use more than two social media accounts and I don't need to keep everything hidden. I doubt anyone will try to hack my information any time soon and compromise my bank account because let's face it, I have no money. I have nothing important to share or hide, none that you know of. Why waste money, when I could just get a better phone?

What will the price be?

It is $629.00 for a Blackphone.

The Chosen Laptop

My prefrerred laptop would need many things to suit for my needs and wants. I am a big media person, so the screen would need to be a fairly good size so I can watch all the movies, television and social media accounts, 13-15 inches. I think one the main uses for my laptop would also be for school. I would need Office, which includes Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint. It would need access to Internet and run smoothly. In total I would want 150GB of hard drive if possible more for all my documents, music, pictures and media. I would want at least 4 GB. I would want the operating system to be updated to at least this year so that I could access and manage it properly and to my standards.

I used a personalized laptop finder and it asked me several questions to come up with the perfect laptop. I need

  • 15 inches for the screen
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 150-500 GB hard drive
  • All purpose or creative proffesional
  •  Good battery life
I entered my options and the perfect laptop for me is Dell Inspiron 15 5000 (2014).
The Inspiron 15 5000 is a solid 15-inch laptop with a vivid touch screen, which 15 starts at $649.
